self representation

I would think that im an approachable nice guy, who's witty and funny. I do believe im apart main stream lifestyle as im into urban wear like trendy jeans and trainers furthermore I spend a lot of time on my phone which makes me more apart of this society as I look at the sport all the time and I spend more time on social networks furthermore I would say im a sport junkie as I go to the gym, run and  play rugby for St.Andrews and have another general interest in athletics as im fast and im good at middle distance, I would like to think id be good at long jump as well.   
I would think that im like David Walliams who is outgoing, funny and an all round nice guy. I would compare myself to him as he is sporty as he has swam the river Thames and im sporty to not in any near way, furthermore I find him one of the funniest comedians on TV as I would like to think that im fairly funny. I would also think that im a nice approachable guy which  is similar as David walliams as he's an all round nice guy.
I Jim Carrey because I loom highly similar, also im tall and gangly and im quite funny sometimes with my one liners.

overall I believe I act and behave like media figures as there so influential across the world, furthermore I like these figures a lot as there globally known and these 2 that I have chosen specifically, are one of many funniest comedians and famous actors in the world.

beyonce male gaze analyse

Beyonce

·      the music video opens with  beyonce look sweaty/sparkly and nude which  appeals for men a sits for men, which this is suggesting she is naked and this is showing women falling under the male gaze and how women are thought to look and behave as male music videos are nothing like females. Its closed up with  just shoulders and head shot as it showing how suggestive and sexual she looks.  

·      It follows to a big close up of just her face again this show suggestive she is acting and the song is all about “making love” so its showing the male gaze of a women, her hand movements across her chest and the way she is slowly moving is demonstrating the sexual nature of the song the fact this song has been made for men as its not appealing to most women  

·       It closes in on her lips a lot to show how seductive she is acting the music video and its showing slow movements of the lips which is making her look very very suggestive to the male audience, she is moving very slowly and gracefully which again is the male gaze upon women 

·      this video also shows a male wrapping her arms around her which  again is showing he has the power as his “strong” arms are wrapped around her while she is wearing suggestive clothing furthermore this is showing a lot of cleavage and other areas which  is appealing to men  as its probably a man who directed the music video  

·      the shots then  alternate with diffirent style effects and close ups of beyonce and the suggestive clothing she is wearing, this is falling all upon the male gaze view. This shows her moving very gracefully and slowly in the differentiating shots which is very suggestive and appealing to men as the song is all about “making love”

There is a wide range of media these days, it’s all around us. Here is my 5x5 of my favourite 5 aspects of the media that’s around us:

I like these aspects of media because they provide many different types of genres which are there to interest us and are made for our enjoyment, the way the action films are done with all  the sound effects and all the camera angles and different types of shot to make that part of global media different And interesting when compared to other areas as there is more put into one production rather than split between 12 or so episodes in a TV series such as bad education, the inbetweeners etc.

I like this aspect because it’s a massive industry and it differentiates for the different types of people with the types of music e.g. pop, rock. Indy etc. this is on a global scale and is in cultures and even part of religion, I like these songs because they are interesting and catchy and there memorable furthermore this industry caters for a lot of people and makes a lot of money and makes up most of our industry alongside, TV and movies.

I like TV shows because they are all over the TV and in most countries and again they cater for millions of people and somehow still interest and have new innovative ideas that still shock us to this day, it dominates the world as in the uk most people have TVs furthermore TV has 1000’s of TV shows to choose from the global TV industry even just in the uk makes millions per year.

I like this aspect of the media as the famous I have highlighted and many others are so influential to average peoples life's, people like Mo Farah, jess Ennis and Manu Tuilagi are so influential and inspirational to people that they want to be them when they grow up. famous people like Richard Branson are popular and inspirational as he is arguably one of the most successful self-made billionaires. Johnny Depp is a very influential person as he is one of the most famous actors in the world and his ability to take on different roles and jobs is inspirational.

I like this aspect of media the most as the people are good at talking to large crowds with confidence and they have the ability to talk of long periods of time with no script, furthermore everybody has there favourite comedian. this shows me that again there are many types of TV media out there and comedy is just one of many which makes a small % of the global industry.     

(the mentalist) us drama:camera angles and shots and movements

In the starting of this short clip, the camera is panning across to the left to show a possible victim and a wound this hints that a possible murder is occurring. furthermore this is an extreme long shot so the producer wants you to know what the scenery is like, so the audience knows that there is no one around. it then continues to close in on the hunter who carrying no weapon so this could be hinting the hunter(Jane) would just be stopping a common criminal.
It moves swiftly into a crabbing shot of the wounded man falling to floor where shot has move to long shot so the audience can see his wounds more clearly, this shows how badly he's been beaten possibly. the camera then moves to the hunter who pulls out a gun which is an indicator that he is trying to murder the man, or he is a culprit where he may have used forced as the victim/criminal would have been resisting arrest.
At 0.36 it shows a mid-close up on the FBI inspector showing his emotions and how relieved liked its a massive weight of his shoulders, the character may be or how angry he may be at the wounded man on the floor, this camera shot would have been shown to show the emotion of the particular characters or actors playing a certain role in the us TV drama. At 0.45 it shows the start of crabbing shows that stops at shoulder to show the state of the victim or possible which could show the audience that an action scene is about to start, furthermore its showing the vulnerability of the wounded character on the floor. it then quickly moves onto the FBI inspector going along side the person on the floor with in the next 10secs which shows the audience that this is an intense scene and it shows the audience that a man who implements the law to be very threatening and actually the bad guy in the scene, this shows a mid-close up which shows the hip to the head which is showing the wounds and how much pain the victim/criminal will be in again this is showing the vulnerability of the victim or possible criminal.
 this develops into an over the shoulder shot/Ariel shot which is showing janes point of view and how physically capable the inspector will be, it also represents how much power he will have when compared to a 'commoner' or average citizen, the shot represents how power he will have as it ties in with the fact he's enforces the law and he has the capability to kill if he has too.
At 1.07 it shows janes face of emotions for a long time over a period of time, this shows relieve and anger as he grabs the wounded mans throat, this again links to the power he was chasing a murder and the producer wants to show the strength and authority he has over the man.
it then continues with close ups of the victim or red john and Jane, showing how wounded and how weak the killer is as he has been shot at by what is hinted towards Jane as he has the weapon and is strangling him even he's near or already dead.
 At 3.19 it shows an intense scene in an office with 3 people sat on chairs, this shows them looking very distressed, the camera shot is long shot as it shows an empty room as if items have been moved out of them and closed down. this is telling audience that something may have gone wrong or a crime may have been committed showing the audience the camera shot for a specific reason as it would be important to the story line. At 3.24 it shows a phone in  a back with a big-close up as it show specific item in particular this would be of significance as it would be a piece of evidence for a crime that would have been committed.
the scene closes with Jane running while the camera is doing a crabbing/tracking shot in a slow motion way to show the emotions as he is running  as if he isn't going to see his friends again because he has done something wrong, this would have been shown to the audience because it will show all the emotions and all the children and families that he is running past that are going to find the body. showing the parents and children in the shot was important as it shows the killing in a public area that not confined and open with children everywhere. this is of significance as the opening shot shows an empty area.

film production- key roles

Stages of film production:

Development - This is simply the process of 'finding' a story. Ideas for films come from a variety of sources, they can range from novels, real life events to computer game adaptations. Once you've got an idea you'll need someone to write a pitch for you which you take to a film producer in an attempt to get some funding to make your film. Even at this very early stage you need a very clear idea of who you're aiming you film at so you can include elements that will appeal to them.

Pre-production - Once you've got funding you establish your budget and can begin to get a film crew together, you can storyboard the script. You also need break the script down into individual scenes and identify all the locations, props, cast members, costumes, special effects and visual effects needed.

Production - This is simply the process of 'making' the film. Provided you've done your job properly in the pre-production stage making the film should be straight forward. 'Film' is very expensive and difficult to store so an increasing number of film makers are using digital cameras to save money.

Post-production - During this stage you take all the 'film' you've shot and give it to a film editor. They will then begin putting it together. Special effects will be added, a soundtrack will be added, any missing dialogue will be re-recorded and added resulting in a 'rough cut'. This will be shown to the director and a test audience who will offer feedback. Often this causes scenes to be filmed and added or removed.

• Writer-Scriptwriters are the incredibly talented people who write scripts for feature films, sitcoms, television dramas etc. these work hard during development creating the dialogue, the scenes, the acting roles and so on.
• Producer-A movie producer is the person responsible for making sure an appealing, high-quality movie is produced on time and within budget.
• casting director- also called talent directors, read scripts and collaborate with producers, directors, and writers to create breakdown notices, which are brief descriptions of the physical attributes, skills, and experience sought in actors to portray particular characters
• director- Producers are responsible for facilitating a project from beginning to end. They are involved in every stage of the television programme, film or video, overseeing the project from start to finish, both in the studio and on location
• film finance-is a subset of project finance, meaning the film project's generated cash flows rather than external sources are used to repay investors.
• camera operator-A Camera Operator works with digital, electronic and film cameras in multi and single camera operational conditions, producing pictures for directors by combining the use of complex technology with creative visual skills
• editor-Film Editors assemble footage of feature films, television shows, documentaries, and industrials into a seamless end product. They manipulate plot, score, sound, and graphics to refine the overall story into a continuous and enjoyable whole
• production designer-Production Designers are major heads of department on film crews, and are responsible for the entire art department. They play a crucial role in helping directors to achieve the film's visual requirements, and in providing producers with carefully calculated schedules which offer viable ways of making films within agreed budgets and specified periods of time
• marketing-the action or business of promoting and selling products or services, including market research and advertising.
• exhibition-a public display of works of art or items of interest, held in an cinemas or at premier etc.
